UEA delivered its first Japan Orientation Summer Programme in 2014, delivered by our specialised Centre for Japanese Studies, with support from the Toshiba International Foundation who provided scholarships for our inaugural year.
"Japan plays a very significant role in the contemporary world, and I am thrilled to host this innovative short course to enthuse others with a passion for the history of Japan, Japanese culture and its future."
Course Director, Dr Simon Kaner, Director of the Centre for Japanese Studies at the University and Head of the Centre for Archaeology and Heritage at the Sainsbury Institute for the Study of Japanese Arts and Cultures.
The success of course led to its continuation for 2015 and its full accreditation at 20 UK Undergraduate credits, again with support from the Toshiba International Foundation. For the full 2016 programme outline, dates and fees, and our 2016 Toshiba funded scholarships, please visit our Japan Orientation pages.
