Graduate Route

Student Life International advisers are not able to offer advice and guidance relating to working visas or offer application support.

However, we can provide general information and answer basic questions about the Graduate Route and how it relates to your study at UEA. The UK Council for International Student Affairs (UKCISA) website is a good source of guidance regarding the Graduate Route.

Key Facts

• Where can I apply from? – You must be in the UK with valid Student permission.

• How long can I stay in the UK under this route? – 2 years (for applications from 1 January 2027, this will change to 18 months). If you studied a PhD or other doctoral qualification, you will be granted 3 years (this is not changing in 2027).

• Is this a potential route to Settlement? – No, time spent on the Graduate route does not count towards settlement.
