US Financial Aid

There are several funding options available to US students coming to study with us at UEA.

We are a participating Foreign School in the William D Ford Federal Direct Loan Program. This means that eligible students can apply for US HEA Title IV federal loans to support them in paying for their studies. UEA is also partnered with Sallie Mae and Earnest, enabling us to certify private student loan options with these two providers.

Applying for Different Loan Types

It is important to note that different loan types (and providers) may offer different loan terms and conditions. These differences may include (but are not limited to) applicable interest rates, repayment terms, and maximum loan eligibility. We strongly recommend that you review the information on the loan providers’ websites before deciding what loans you wish to apply for. If you are intending to apply for one of the private loan options, you may also wish to consider submitting a FAFSA, so you can see how much Title IV Federal Student Aid you may be eligible to receive.

One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA)

The Bill has introduced a number of significant changes to the Title IV Federal Loan program, including (but not limited to), changes to loan limits and available repayment plans.

From 01 July 2026, new loan limits will impact new borrowers under the Title IV program. Legacy borrowers may continue to borrow under previous rules for up to three additional academic years, or until course completion, whichever occurs sooner. To receive the maximum amount allowable within your Cost of Attendance (CoA), many new borrowers will need to consider private loan options in combination with Title IV Federal Loans.

VA Benefits (Post-9/11 GI Bill)

UEA is no longer a participant in the US Department of Veterans Affairs Post-9/11 GI Bill funding program. Our decision to withdraw from the program was taken due to significant changes in the regulatory requirements for our participation. Unfortunately, this means that students eligible for funds under the Bill cannot use these to study at UEA.
