Uni Go! is a three-day, two-night residential, designed to give you a first-hand experience of life as a university student. You'll stay in student accommodation and try your hand at a wide range of activities, from sports sessions to drama workshops. The aim? To give you the confidence and skills you need to make empowered choices about your own future.
Why should I apply?
There are loads of reasons to apply for Uni Go! If you're on the fence about going to university, Uni Go! will give you first-hand experience of student life, to help you reach a decision. Over three days and two nights staying in student accommodation, you'll discover your independence and develop lifelong skills. You'll also meet other young people at similar points in their education journey - and have plenty of fun along the way.
We'll focus on building skills like adaptability, communication, and critical thinking - skills that will help you succeed at university, in your current studies, and in your future career.
The best part? It's all completely free.

When is it?
Uni Go! takes place during the summer holidays, from Monday 21 July to Wednesday 23 July 2025.
Where will I stay?
To give you a real taste of university life, you'll stay in UEA's student accommodation. You’ll get your very own room and ensuite bathroom, and share a kitchen and social space with other students on the residential.
UEA student ambassadors will on hand to help you settle in and show you around, answering any questions you might have about what it’s like to be a student.
What will I do?
We're still finalising the timetable, but here's a sample of the activities on offer:

Trip to an escape room
Free time to choose your own activities
Develop and pitch your own ideas - think Dragons' Den meets The Apprentice!
Confidence-raising workshops
Work with industry professionals and UEA staff and students
Celebration event to mark the end of your stay
Can I apply?
Applications for Uni Go! are open until 30 May 2025.
You can apply if:
You’re currently in Year 12 or Level 3 Year 1 and will be aged 18 or under at the time of the residential
You live in Norfolk or have an NR postcode
And you meet at least one of the eligibility criteria listed below
You are care experienced
Being care experienced means you will have spent time living with foster carers under local authority care, in residential care (e.g. a children's home), looked after at home under a supervision order, or in kinship care with relatives or friends, either officially (e.g. a special guardianship order) or informally without local authority support.
You are estranged
An estranged person is someone who no longer has the support of their parents, and often also other family members, due to a permanent breakdown in their relationship which has led to ceased contact. This might mean your biological, step, or adoptive parents or wider family members who have been responsible for supporting you in the past.
You have been eligible for Free School Meals in the past six years, or you are eligible for the 16-19 Bursary.
You are studying at least one Vocational and Technical Qualification (VTQ) such as BTEC or T-Levels
We have limited spaces available, so use the lists above to help make sure you meet the criteria before you apply.
How do I apply?
To sign up, complete this online form by 30 May 2025.
If we receive more applications than there are spaces, then we’ll randomly select people. If you’ve not been randomly selected, we’ll place you on a waiting list and you may be offered a place if someone else drops out.
