David Sainsbury Scholarships in Global Plant Health
The Sainsbury Laboratory (TSL) offers the prestigious David Sainsbury Scholarships in Global Plant Health to a limited number of applicants on the MSc in Global Plant Health.
Two scholarships are available: The David Sainsbury Full MSc Scholarship and The David Sainsbury 10% Fee Scholarship. All applicants are eligible to be considered for either the full scholarship or the 10% fee scholarship.
The David Sainsbury Full MSc Scholarship
Each full scholarship will cover up to:

the full cost of the tuition fee (£31,000 for 2023-24)

maintenance grant (exact value at the UKRI postgraduate researcher stipend level to be determined for 2023-24; in 2022-23 it was £17,668)

an additional £4,000 for travel costs (subject to valid economy class travel receipts)
Eligibility
You are eligible for a full scholarship under these terms if you meet all these criteria:

You are in receipt of an offer of a place on the UEA MSc in Global Plant Health

You are a national of or domiciled in a least-developed, low-income, or lower-middle-income country or territory as defined by the Overseas Development Agency Development Assistance Committee (DAC) list, version 2022-23 for entry in 2022/23 academic year.
The David Sainsbury 10% Fee Scholarship
Each 10% fee scholarship will cover up to up to 10% of the full cost of the tuition fee (10% of either £16,000 UK or £31,000 international fees for 2023/24), minus any other awards or scholarships you are in possession of that cover more than 90% of the fee.

You are eligible for a full scholarship under these terms if you meet all these criteria:

You are in receipt of an offer of a place on the UEA MSc in Global Plant Health

You are not a national of or domiciled in a least-developed, low-income, or lower-middle-income country or territory as defined by the Overseas Development Agency Development Assistance Committee (DAC) list, version 2022-23, for entry in 2022-23 academic year. For example, you are a national of and domiciled in an upper-middle income country or higher income country (including the UK) according to this list.

Students enrolled on the MSc in Global Plant Health are not eligible for other UEA Scholarships
Application Process
Provided you meet the eligibility criteria, you will automatically be considered for the scholarship, on a competitive basis - no separate application is required.
You will be evaluated for the scholarship based on the same criteria used to evaluate your application to enrol on the course:

your academic achievement, awards and potential

knowledge and experience of plant pathology, plant biology, microbiology and data science
-
leadership, management, entrepreneurship and relevant lab skills
-
independent study and teamwork
