Placements and internships are a fantastic way to apply and further develop learning and skills from your course in a workplace. They allow you to gain valuable experience while exploring a particular role or sector. These different options help you make useful contacts and may even result in the offer of longer-term employment.
Placements
Placements are embedded in your degree. They allow you to put your subject knowledge into practice in your chosen field. There are different types of placements which include:

We support students to find, secure and succeed on their placement – whether it's for a year-long programme or as part of a module. This support is crucial for getting the most out of your placement.
Internships
Internships are separate from your degree. These fixed term opportunities give students the chance to work on exciting and innovative projects to build up their skillset and increase their confidence and employability. Internships are one of the best ways to apply what you have learnt on your course in a workplace environment.
Completing an internship demonstrates that you are forward thinking and enthusiastic about getting started on your career. Having this experience will be invaluable when it comes to your job search after you graduate.
Internships across a range of sectors are available exclusively to UEA students and graduates through the UEA Internship Programme. They are always paid.
