UEA Innovation and Impact Awards 2022

Context

The UEA Innovation and Impact Awards celebrate the amazing work that UEA’s researchers, students, alumni and partners are doing in the field of innovation. Always looking to be at the forefront of pioneering research, this is one of UEA’s flagship events, with guests such as Myleene Klass speaking at the event.

Task / Brief

The team was tasked with assisting the UEA events team with copywriting and scheduling social media posts ahead of the 2022 Innovation and Impact Awards. The team helped produce table plan documents too. On the day itself, they helped to check in guests, escort award winners to collect their certificates and official photography.

Outcomes

The event went very smoothly and was a fantastic showcase of all that UEA has to offer. The team was able to establish an efficient system for handing guests over to one another that ensured maximum ease for the guests and ensured that there was little confusion in the various transitions.

Personal Insight

Working alongside the events team for the UEA Innovation and Impact Awards allowed us to experience the full timeline of planning, marketing, hosting, and finalising a major event for an organisation. By being part of the team that worked on scheduling social media posts in the build-up to the event and helping out on the day, we definitely felt the rewards of being able to see prior work come together on the day. – Emma and Marcus.
