I joined the UEA MBA programme to take the next step in my professional life and to potentially upgrade myself to the next level.
Were there any specific programme attributes or life/career influences?
The UEA MBA programme gave me a huge boost in my career completion. As an Engineer by Undergraduate Education, my future path was rather more focused, but now with an MBA, I was almost recognised by most corporations as potential elite workforce.
How did the MBA change your life personally and professionally?
The UEA MBA programme gave me a holistic view and approach at how I look at any case today, especially when looking at challenges that life brings us all on a reoccurring basis. Thanks to my MBA, I see more solutions today where I used to see problems for all sort of challenges I face both personally and professionally.
What did you go on to do after you graduated?
I continued to pursue a career in the Financial Industry following my days as a Daily Trader at the Istanbul Stock Exchange and became a Private Banker in Switzerland after my graduation. Thanks to my new masters, I was now able to apply to a ‘Manager Trainee’ program at my new job which accepted only candidates with masters degrees actually and it was some of the best training I’ve ever had for a span of 24 Months. I was trained in the area of Private Banking by some of the best in class managers in one of the leading private banks in the industry while living and working out of Geneva, Hong Kong, Singapore and Zürich for various times pending from 3 Months to a year or more while undertaking diverse set of tasks in each and every other location. Today I am responsible as both a Business Manager and a Portfolio Manager in my company and none of this would have been possible without my MBA hence the skillsets I have obtained throughout this course. All-in-all, I wouldn’t even have been able to apply to the ‘Manager Trainee’ program to start with and ultimately be where I am today in my professional career.
What advice do you have for those who are joining the programme?
I kindly advise all joiners to give the most they can to this programme and imagine it like a mirror that would give back to them as much as they give to it. The harder they work, the better they will rewarded.
