My UEA Story: Janice

Hello, my name is Janice Wysynski and I am an MPharm Integrated Master of Pharmacy student at UEA. I chose to study at UEA because the UEA School of Pharmacy for its overall ranking and student satisfaction performance. Also, I like the innovative teaching techniques used in the School of Pharmacy that enable the students to gain hands-on experience of real working challenges and develop the skills required in the real working environment right from the start.

I enjoy studying at UEA because there is a lot of support available when I need it. For example, I can easily contact the lecturer if I am struggling with my study. All of the lecturers are very knowledgeable, friendly and approachable. I am also assigned to an adviser whom I can always turn to whenever I need any help.

In addition, there is Career Central on the campus that I can pop into if I have any queries with my CV or job applications. Another thing that I enjoy about studying at UEA is there are a lot of opportunities in the university that I can apply to in order to develop myself. For example, I have an opportunity to be a student representative of my year, which then can help me to improve my communication skills.

UEA has a great social life because there are many societies and clubs that the students can join. I myself have joined some societies such as the Indonesian Society, Malaysian Society, Pharmacy Society, and British Red Cross. Through joining the societies, I met a lot of local and international students and made a lot of new friends. UEA itself has a lot of excellent facilities that I really enjoy. One of them is the library that is open 24/7 which allows me to go in whenever I need to. Another excellent facility is the huge Sportspark boasts an extensive range of activities. There are other facilities on campus that I find really useful such as bank, cafĂ©, shop and laundrettes.

Not only UEA, I also love Norwich because it is a very nice historical city. It is also one of the safest cities in the UK, which makes it a really good place to stay and study. It has great shopping centres and lots of restaurants serving delicious food from almost all around the world. In addition to this, the city is easily accessed by bus from UEA as the bus service runs throughout the day and most of the night.

To put it in a nutshell, studying at UEA is one of the most exciting experiences that I have had in my life.
