Research activity in the School has been well established around key themes and areas of expertise that continue to grow and develop.
Our research in recent years has largely built on the Centre for Research on Children and Families. We have had continuous funding for a range of empirical projects, particularly in the fields of:
However, we have plans to develop new areas of social work research, for example having recently been awarded funding to evaluate a service for older and disabled people, and we are building our interdisciplinary links across the University.
We have already benefited from opportunities to collaborate with other social policy researchers across the UEA. For example we have developed links with researchers in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences such as Health Economists Professor Ruth Hancock and Dr Marcello Morciano and medical sociologist Tom Shakespeare, and (within the Faculty of Social Science) Dr Sara Connolly from the Norwich Business School.
