A Literature degree with us will give you a wide knowledge of writing in English, from the poetry of the Middle Ages and the plays of Shakespeare to the novels, poetry, drama and non-fiction that are inspiring readers around the world today. Our modular Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts programmes are designed to allow you to follow your interests as a reader and to find your voice as a writer.

Our approach to teaching Drama is a blend of academic study with practical exploration and vocational skills training. Students write, create and perform theatre as well as studying its history, theory and social significance.
