International Conferences

In summer 2013, we hosted our third interdisciplinary cross-cultural pragmatics conference – Cross-Cultural Pragmatics at a Crossroads III: IMPACT: Making a Difference in Intercultural Communication – as a follow up to the very successful events in 2006 and 2011.  Further details are available on the conference website.

In 2014, we also host the Conference on East Asian Translation Studies - see the call for papers. More details are available on the conference webpage.

Research Seminars

This series provides an opportunity for UEA colleagues and students to attend presentations focused on issues of cross-cultural communication and translation studies, our two main areas of research.  Seminars also aim to connect with guests from the local community who can offer valuable perspectives, thus widening the impact of the research while, at the same time, contributing to the development of the research itself.

Symposia

We periodically organise or co-organise symposia and Postgraduate conferences in the areas of translation, cross-cultural communication and discourse analysis.
