The Interdisciplinary Institute for the Humanities is based in the ARTS Building. It is the home of the innovative Foundation Year, as well as the MA in Gender Studies and the MA in Interdisciplinary Japanese Studies. We provide an intellectual home for those activities in the Faculty of Arts and Humanities which cross disciplinary boundaries, including the Centre for Japanese Studies (CJS), the Publishing Project, the Media Suite, Digital Humanities, and the East Anglian Film Archive (EAFA).
The Institute's team of staff are dedicated to providing an ethos where innovation can flourish. We are proud to be home to the Foundation Year, which prepares students for the Faculty's BA programmes. We pride ourselves on offering a warm and friendly ethos in which students can feel at home and develop to their full intellectual potential with the help of specialist faculty – and look forward to welcoming you to the Institute.
