Attending court

The Family Court sits at three locations in Norfolk.  Your hearing will usually be at the court nearest to where the child/children live, but sometimes your hearing may take place at a different court.  Below are details of how to find the court venues:

Norwich

Address: Bishopsgate, Norwich, NR3 1UP

Parking: The nearest car park is behind the Adam and Eve pub, just past the court building.  Sometimes the contactless payment machine doesn’t work, so take some coins with you.

If this car park is full, the next nearest one is Rose Lane multistorey car park on Mountergate, NR1 1PY.  This is a 12 minute walk from the court, so allow plenty of time.

Make sure you pay for plenty of parking as hearings can run late and you don’t want to be worried about getting a parking ticket.

When you arrive, there are two court buildings next to each other, with separate entrances.  Check your paperwork to see whether your hearing is at the Magistrates Court or the County Court. If you are not sure, ask the security guards at the entrance for help.

Great Yarmouth
