The Care Homes Independent Pharmacist Prescribing Study

CHIPPS (The Care Homes Independent Pharmacist Prescribing Study) is a five-year National Institute of Health Research (NIHR) research programme into medicines management in care homes which is being carried out in four sites: Norfolk, Yorkshire, Grampian and Northern Ireland.  The ultimate aim of the programme is to determine the effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of pharmacist independent prescribing in care homes.

Funded by the National Institute of Health Research


The programme started in May 2015 and consists of six work packages, over the following five years.
