UEA & Norfolk & Norwich Thinker In Residence, Karina Aveyard, will be joined by keynote speaker, Frances Morris CBE. Frances is an internationally renowned museum curator, art historian and writer, and highly respected for her innovative leadership and powerful advocacy for the environment, gender equality and global art histories in cultural institutions. She is the current Chair of the Gallery Climate Coalition and former Director of the Tate Modern, where she is recognised as having had a pivotal role in transforming the Tate into one of the world’s leading art institutions.
Locally-based artists will create an innovative dialogue with the public lecture, celebrating Norwich and Norfolk as a centre of bold, original thinking and action. The radical present and history of the region will be explored in new stories created through short film based on recontextualised archival film from the East Anglian Film Archive and a debut reading of original poetry by a young Norfolk writer.
