CARN (Classroom Action Research Network) CARN (Classroom Action Research Network)

Following the Ford Foundation funding the Ford Teaching Project at CARE (1972-74) - an action research project involving teachers and schools in East Anglia and led by John Elliott - the Foundation also funded the launch in 1976 of the Classroom Action Research Network, which was based in CARE for many years under the leadership of John Elliott.

Such was the impact of the network in forging the methodology of action research internationally that it engaged educators from across the professions and changed its name to Collaborative Action Research Network. It is still in existence to-day and one of its major outcomes has been to engage practitioners in research and publication of findings in international refereed journals.
