ABOUT US

The Conference Team forms part of the Alumni, Conferences and Events office at UEA. We are committed to enhancing the University’s reputation by facilitating academic conferences and supporting our researchers and their partnerships.

Drawing upon our experience in education, event management and marketing, the Conference team will work closely with you to customise conference and accommodation packages to suit your event objectives.

Our team comprises of a conference manager, two conference co-ordinators and a finance and systems administrator.

MEET THE TEAM

  • Anna-Marie Moody

    Conference Manager

    Profile: I have worked at the University for over 13 years, many of them in a sales and marketing role. I enjoy all aspects of events management but have a passion for meeting customers and getting to understand their event objectives. I have managed the team since 2010 and worked with customers across all sectors, including charity's, language schools, corporate events, association conferences, and academic conferences. My previous experience working in the leisure and tourism industry taught me the importance of first impressions and giving great customer service; something the conference team thrives on. One of my biggest achievements was to manage BBC’s Antiques Roadshow production on campus in the middle of a busy conference season in July 2013.
  • Kat Downes

    Conference Co-ordinator

    Profile: I work with customers on a day-to-day basis advising on the extensive University facilities across campus. I am also responsible for film and photography requests to use the University as a location. I started my career as a tourism events coordinator for my local council, managing music concerts and film festivals, before moving to the marketing side of things in the private sector. I have a wide range of event knowledge and really enjoy the operational side of my role. Drawing upon my experience within industry, I also look after specialist conference groups including visiting film festivals, NHS conferences and meetings, leisure groups and arts and humanities academic conferences. Always keen to commend the virtues of the fine city of Norwich, I am happy to make recommendations for social and cultural events that will enhance the visitor's experience at UEA.

    Conference Co-ordinator

    Profile: I have worked at UEA for 13 years within the Conference Team organising some truly fantastic and innovative events. Using my extensive events experience I love working closely with customers to ensure their objectives are met, delegates are happy and everything runs smoothly and within budget. My career started in the financial sector before moving to UEA where careful planning and customer satisfaction is key. I enjoy organising the diverse events we have on campus each year from prestigious, corporate conferences to national self-catering groups, visiting schools, and technical academic conferences. I am very customer-focused, so always keep friendly and positive relationships with all my customers.
