The graduate job market is competitive. Employers are looking for graduates with the skills to drive their businesses to succeed. Graduates who are creative, confident and persistence. Who are good at problem-solving, have strong communication skills and a sound commercial understanding. Graduates who are ‘enterprising’.
To help UEA students develop these skills we’ve established the UEA Enterprise Fund – an investment fund, funded entirely by donations. Many alumni, businesses and individual entrepreneurs are already supporting the fund which offers three levels of funding to help kick-start student business.
The three levels of funding available to apply for are:
• Start-up grants of up to £3,000 to help student entrepreneurs test out their initial ideas
• Small-scale investments of £20,000 - £30,000 provide entrepreneurs with access to much-need cash in the early stages of their business’s development
• Large-scale investments of £50,000+ are available in return for equity in the business
These financial investments help our budding entrepreneurs overcome the early challenges and costs of making their business ideas a success.
But financial investment isn’t all they need. Difference Campaign supporters with business experience and connections are also helping our entrepreneurs succeed. They provide mentoring, practical advice and networking opportunities to help give student businesses the edge over their competitors.
By supporting the UEA Enterprise Fund you can help students and graduates get ahead in the job market by providing them with the opportunity to develop the diverse skills and experiences running your own business has to offer. And, who knows, what great ideas they will develop for the world.
By providing a combination of financial investment and expert mentorship, the UEA Enterprise Fund aims to provide real opportunity for students and graduates to pursue their business ideas and reach their full potential.
