The University of East Anglia is committed to supporting the safety, wellbeing and human rights of those with whom we interact.
The maintenance of robust safeguarding measures is key to how we deliver against that commitment to safeguarding the welfare of everyone participating in our organized activities and providing a safe environment for anyone using our facilities.
We also work closely with other key organisations in the region and are represented on the Norfolk Safeguarding (Adults) Board. In discharging our responsibilities, we are mindful of our specific duty of care and legal obligations for children (under the age of 18) and adults at risk of harm, as set out in the Children Act 1989, 2004 & 2006, Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act 2006, the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012 and the Care Act 2014.
