A dedicated workspace for our Speech and Language Therapy students.

Used for taught seminars in core disciplines such as phonetics and linguistics, the Clinical Skills Area (CSA) houses our anatomy models and 25 workstations with specialist fonts and software for phonetic transcription, acoustic analysis, hearing impairment simulation, and more.

Students are encouraged to utilise the CSA outside of timetabled sessions, practising with tools and media to support and extend their learning, as well as for informal practice with our extensive range of assessments and therapy materials used in clinical practice. Specialist materials for conditions such as fluency disorders and hearing impairment are supplemented by AAC devices and wider child- and adult-focused resources targeting any and all domains of speech, language, and communication.
