Prof Azarmi is the SVP of Zu-Tech Consulting. He has been involved in AI and Computing research and innovation activities in Industry and academia for over 40 years. Prior to ZTCT, he was the head of BT Global Research & Innovation Programme at the BT Labs-UK focusing on research and application of AI to BT's telecommunications network management and next generation resource management systems. During his time at BT he founded BT's highly successful Intelligent Systems R&D programme, and the expansion of that programme to a Global Research and Innovation Programme with Centres/Lab-lets in the USA, N-Ireland, the UAE, India and China.
He has been collaborating with Prof Gerard Parr, Chair in Telecommunications Engineering of the School of Computing Science at UEA, on the development and roll-out of major ICT/AI research and innovation initiatives in the UK and India (IUATC and UKIFNI). Prof Azarmi has been involved in many collaborations with academic institutions and companies around the world, supporting and providing advice to governments and industry.
