University Rankings

University rankings are extremely important to UEA as an institution. Not only do they confirm our knowledge that we are a world-leading centre of teaching and research, but they also allow prospective students to notice UEA and be in with an opportunity to have the same experience you did.

Moreover, rankings are important to you as well. UEA’s continued high performance in university rankings will give you, we hope, a sense of pride and an acknowledgement of your hard work.

We hear from many graduates that UEA has shaped their lives, but we also know that you can shape UEA. This can be via your impact while studying here or by completing rankings survey after you graduate.

There are two main rankings surveys you can complete as alumni: Qs University Rankings and the Graduate Outcome Survey.

QS Rankings

Quacquerelli Symonds (QS) is a company founded in 1990 to provide information and advice to students wanting to study abroad. They started to rank universities in 2004, initially in partnership with Times Higher Education (THE) magazine and later independently. The QS rankings now assess universities all over the world and help to shape perceptions of academic institutions.

As alumni, you can help in of three ways:

If you are an academic, you can sign up to take part in the QS Academic Reputation Survey.
If your current job involves employing staff or being part of any hiring decisions, you can sign up to take part in the QS Employer Reputation Survey.
If you are currently employed, but not in the above two categories, you could help us by approaching your employer to ask if they would consent to be included in the QS Employer Reputation Survey.

Following this sign-up process, QS will contact you via email between the months of December and March to invite you to complete the Reputation Survey. The email will come from the address rankings@qs.com. You might want to add this email address to your safe senders list and perhaps periodically check spam folders during the survey period. QS will not contact you for any other reason, or for more than two editions of their annual survey, without supplementary or separate consent.

Recent graduates: Graduate Outcome Survey

Fifteen months after you leave us, you will be asked to complete the Graduate Outcome Survey. This national survey captures graduates’ activities and perspectives to help inform future students’ higher education choices. The survey only takes 10 minutes to complete – keep an eye out for your email invitation from universityofeastanglia@graduateoutcomes.ac.uk.

Filling out this survey helps capture valuable data on UEA alumni’s post-graduation journey, and performance in this survey can have a positive effect on university rankings. Your involvement is essential in planning for the future and, as a graduate, it is a straightforward way you can help UEA.

While you’re reflecting on your activities since graduation, if you’d like a free chat with a careers adviser, UEA is still here for you. Graduates can access 1-1 advice, online resources, live job opportunities, and events and careers fairs through the exclusive MyCareerCentral graduate view for up to three years after graduation.
