Careers advice and guidance
Our team of professionally trained careers advisers can support you whether you have a few or no career ideas. Using our guidance services, you can discuss options, overcome obstacles, present yourself to employers and find opportunities.
Work experience and internships
Our Careers Service website advertises a wealth of part-time, vacation, voluntary and graduate opportunities, to help you gain valuable experience in a sector that interests you, and our paid Internship Programmes means you can boost your employability while you earn.
UEA offers around 1,500 volunteering opportunities to students each year, from education, conservation and heritage, to community and neighbourhood projects.
Our annual programme of more than 250 events includes careers fairs, alumni events and employer presentations; as well as skills workshops and training, enterprise support and career management sessions on topics such as CVs, work experience, networking and coaching.
If you're interested in starting a business, the Student Enterprise and Employability Development (SEED) Team can offer startup surgeries, grants and funding, Tier 1 application assistance and business start workshops.
This academic year our Mentoring Programme has made over 370 matches between mentors and mentees. Mentoring can help you explore options, gain confidence and hone your skills while connecting with an employer to find out about real working life.
The Careers Service Coaching Programme offers a series of workshops to support the process of making career decisions, improving self-awareness and confidence, and developing an action plan.
CVs and applications
Our Careers Service can work with you on everything that's involved in applying for and getting a job, from writing your CV and making applications to honing your interview skills and participating in psychometric testing.
