Funding for Postgraduate Research Degrees
Studentships and Scholarships for MPhil and PhD programmes in the School of Philosophy at UEA for 2013/14 academic year.
Studentships
There are up to 20 doctoral studentships available:
- 20 University Studentships - available to any PhD applicant to any of the faculty's schools of study admitting postgraduate research students
- Current postgraduate research students in the Faculty of Arts and Humanities can also apply for the above studentships.
How much would the funding be?
- For UK and EU students funding includes a maintenance payment and covers full course fees
- For International Students funding includes a maintenance payment and covers partial courses fees. Therefore international students must be able to pay the difference between UK/EU fees and international fees.
- Maintenance is paid at current AHRC rates. In 2012/13 maintenance was £13,590 per year for full-time students.
How can I apply?
- Your application for a PhD must be received by 18 February 2013 in order to be considered for a studentship you do not need to submit a separate application for studentships
- Current PhD students in the Faculty of Arts and Humanities must initially contact the School PGR Director to discuss their application.
How are studentships awarded?
- Studentships are awarded on academic merit and the overall strength of the application.
Decisions on the above studentships funding are expected to be made by the Faculty by 1 April 2013 and successful applicants will be advised by that date.
