Welcome to Language and Communication Studies
Contemporary culture, language and translation issues in the context of rapid globalisation are the focus of study in the School of Language and Communication Studies.
Our MA programmes address issues of international exchange via translation, cross-cultural communication and linguistics, and cater for an extensive range of languages.
The University also offers an MA in Literary Translation, run by the School of Literature and Creative Writing.

NEW DEGREE PROGRAMMES FOR 2010-2011: French or Spanish and Film & Television
These exciting new four-year degree programmes are designed for students who are particularly interested in exploring diverse aspects of our intensely mediated society, while extending and consolidating their proficiency in French or Spanish language to Honours level. The programme combines an equal combination of advanced language learning with the study of film and television. The degree also includes a year abroad in a French-speaking or Spanish-speaking country. Read more
