Holistic, multidisciplinary approach to teaching and research Holistic, multidisciplinary approach to teaching and research

For 50 years, UEA’s School of Environmental Sciences has been at the forefront of crucial environmental research that will shape the future of our world.

Some of the most important climate research takes place at UEA, as well as life-changing work on natural hazards, sustainable communities, oceans, rivers, meteorology, geophysics and more.

We have one of the largest interdisciplinary Environmental Sciences departments in Europe, offering a huge range of degree courses – both general and specialist – informed by pioneering research that makes a real difference. In fact, we’re ranked 1st in the UK for the impact of our research (REF 2014) and have received numerous accolades for the quality of our teaching.

We’re looking ahead to another 50 years of important work to address the major sustainability and environmental challenges of the 21st century – a task that relies on equipping the next generation of environmental scientists with the skills to tackle existential challenges like energy security, climate change and biodiversity conservation.

Study with us to join an exciting, innovative, dynamic department and be a part of our ambitious project.
