Thank you for your interest in the Toolkit for tackling chronic opioid use in non-cancer pain from this website.

The Medicines Optimisation Group East Anglia was supported by NIHR CLAHRC Eastern to develop an approach to opioid tapering. We combined research evidence with experiences of health organisations and practitioners to develop a programme theory. This programme theory identifed seven key features that should be included in all opioid deprescribing interventions. We have formulated this evidence into a toolkit to enable effective intervention components to be adapted for diverse health systems to achieve feasibility and scalability whilst maintaining efficacy.
