Competition, Markets and Regulation

Competition law research in the School spans several areas – from cartels, to abuse of dominance and private enforcement of competition law. Our researchers' work is focused on the Centre for Competition Policy (CCP).

The research undertaken in CCP is multi-disciplinary, with members looking at legal problems through the lens of economic and political science perspectives. Its active seminar series meets extensively each academic year with presentations by centre members, other UEA colleagues and external speakers. It also organises several conferences and workshops every year, with speakers from across the relevant disciplines within UEA and from other institutions in the UK and internationally.

Many of the School's PhD students are in this area looking at questions from merger control to the criminalisation of cartels and energy regulation. Many have gone on to jobs at UEA, but also other UK University Law Schools
