Norwich is one of the most vibrant and attractive cities in Europe and is a friendly and diverse city with lots to see and do. It is often ranked in the top 10 shopping cities in the UK and attracts thousands of visitors each summer.

As well as being known for arts, culture, music, nightlife and tourism, it has a Norman Cathedral, 12th Century Castle as well as an open-air market, quirky independent shops, restaurants, galleries, bowling allies, cinemas, cafes, bars, pubs and clubs. The medieval centre of cobbled streets remains largely intact, but there is still space for modern buildings such as the city’s centrepiece, the Forum, which is a striking piece of contemporary architecture. It also hosts many museums and galleries and one of the UK’s largest annual Arts festivals, the Norfolk and Norwich Festival.

Norwich is the only city in Norfolk in the East of England and is the only English city set in a national park. It has been voted one of the best places to live multiple times. The City’s motto is “a fine city” and its strong cultural heritage has seen it maintain the best of its historical character. It is surrounded by beautiful countryside and is within easy reach of the stunning Norfolk coast. The famous Norfolk Broads are among the most important wetlands in Europe and a haven for rare plants, wildlife and insects.

Norwich is also a UNESCO World city of Literature, the first in the UK, as well as being one of the newly named Tech Cities recognising the growth of digital businesses in the region.

“If there is another city in the United Kingdom with a school of painters named after it, a matchless modern art gallery, a university with a reputation for literary excellence which can boast Booker Prize-winning alumni, one of the grandest Romanesque cathedrals in the world, and an extraordinary state-of-the-art public library then I have yet to hear of it. Norwich is a fine city. None finer.”
