University Information

Our structure, policies and missions

When UEA was established back in 1963, we had teaching space for around 1,200 students.

Today, we're home to over 17,000 students.

Our rankings

We consistently rank in the top 30 universities in the UK. We also rank in the UK top 20 for research quality (Times Higher Education Rankings for the Research Excellence Framework 2021).

Our ethos

With a founding ethos of interdisciplinarity and a strong sense of community, we've established an international reputation.

Our home

Our Norwich campus gives high quality academic, social and cultural facilities to undergraduate and postgraduate students from around the world.

Located near to the centre of Norwich, we're England's first UNESCO City of Literature. We're also based on the Norwich Research Park, a world-leading centre for environment, health and plant science research. It's also home to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital.

Our richly diverse research base informs our outstanding teaching. Our world-leading academics are connected with society, government and industry alike.
