As mathematics student at UEA , you will attend lectures and workshops given by leading academics, and engage in group work and private study towards your mathematics degree. You will also be able to get involved in the wider student life of the University, meeting new people and exploring your hobbies and interests.

UEA Mathematics Community

You will be part of a supportive community of mathematics lecturers, tutors and students. Maths students have the use of their own undergraduate common room “The Russell Room” for studying and meeting up between lecturers. Elected year and course reps attend Staff–Student Liaison Committee meetings, where key teaching staff ask for feedback from students on potential changes to their courses, and students are able to raise concerns and make suggestions for improvements.

UEA MathSoc

MathSoc is a student-run society that brings lots of people together who have an interest in or are studying Mathematics. We host pub quizzes and a Christmas meal along with other socials and trips. MathSoc is the perfect place for you to meet and get to know lots of people from your course and mathematicians in other years. Non-maths students are also more than welcome to join.

Campus Facilities & Accommodation

On Campus, there is a whole range of facilities and amenities, including the shops and food outlets, the UEA Library, the Sainsbury Centre, and the UEA Sportspark. For your first year at UEA, we are generally able to offer university accommodation to those who want it, either on campus or across the road in The UEA Village. The UEA accommodation puts you at the heart of student life on campus, and the typical arrangement of rooms around a shared kitchen/dining area is great for making friends. For further details, see accommodation for prospective students.
