The University has a variety of arrangements and agreements with a wide range of higher education institutions across the world.

Friendship/cooperation arrangements (involving students)

Where the University agrees to promote cooperation, discussions and positive academic relations with another institution to their mutual benefit, without establishing a formal legal relationship between the two institutions.

Progression arrangements (with no recognition of credit towards a UEA award)

Where the University guarantees students consideration for admission (but not guaranteed entry) to the first year of a University of East Anglia course under the usual admission criteria after successful completion of an award at a partner institution.

Progression arrangements (with recognition of credit towards a UEA award)

Where the University guarantees students consideration for admission with recognised credit (but not guaranteed entry) to a University of East Anglia course under the usual admission criteria after successful completion of an award at a partner institution.

Articulation arrangements

Where the University guarantees automatic student entry to a University of East Anglia course, as a result of successfully completing recognised prior study at a partner institution.

Validation arrangements

Where the University, as an awarding institution, judges that a programme (or part thereof) developed and delivered by another institution or organisation is of an appropriate quality and standard to lead to its award.

Franchise arrangements

Where an institution is approved to offer an award developed and overseen by UEA.

Dual or multiple awards

Where the University of East Anglia  and one or more other awarding institution(s) together provide a programme leading to separate awards of both, or all, of the institutions.

Joint awards

Where the University of East Anglia and one or more other awarding institution(s) together provide a programme leading to a joint award of both, or all institutions.

Postgraduate research degrees with co-supervision at another institution

Where the University awards the degree but part of students’ period of study is spent at a partner institution, with a co-supervisor appointed from the partner institution.

Study abroad/student exchange agreements

Where individual students studying for specified University of East Anglia awards can accrue a maximum of 120 credits at international (both EU and non-EU) partner institutions with independent degree-awarding powers.
