We undertake clinical trials and clinical research in areas of Respiratory Medicine and Rhinology and ENT Surgery, with an emphasis on Asthma, Interstitial Lung Disease and disorders altering the sense of smell. Currently the group co-ordinates three National Clinical Trials with funding totalling £6.3M. The ARRISA-UK project is investigating the role of risk registers and their implementation in clinical practice, the EME-TIPAC study is investigating the efficacy of antibiotic therapy in people with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis and the MACRO study is evaluating the effects of macrolide treatment in people with chronic rhino sinusitis. We also undertake studies looking at epidemiology, health related quality of life, exercise, and biomarkers, in a range of conditions affecting the respiratory tract in its widest sense.
