We explore and help identify what underpins effective interprofessional practice that enable professionals to offer the care people need and want and how best to prepare professional for this way of working.

Our team is currently exploring:

  • Educators’ and Healthcare Assistant mentors’ views of taking part in a Healthcare Assistant Project delivered to Gateway (Year 0) and Year 1 medical students. This will include how embracing a mentoring role impacted on Healthcare Assistants themselves.

  • The delivery of the Healthcare Assistant training for Gateway (Year 0) students during the Covid-19 Pandemic in 2020 – how training was approached and successfully delivered.

  • Physician Associates’ contribution to collaborative secondary care and their integration into the multidisciplinary team - a mixed methods study

  • Leadership, in the context of integrating IPL into the curricula – a mixed methods study with colleagues in Norway.
