11–11.55am | Lab experiment: Food for Thought A journey through the Chemistry degree: working in our state-of-the-art laboratories, you will be guided through a variety of lab-based, hands-on activities to explore the fascinating world of food fraud. This session will engage with current research happening right here at UEA and will give you a great insight into what studying Chemistry at UEA is really like. 12.15–1pm | Lab experiment: Apply Digital Technology to the Design of New Molecules and Drugs How do drugs interact with their target? How do we design new molecules? You will use a combination of Molymods, 3D printed structures, and computational tools to investigate how small changes in the structure of a drug have a big impact on its therapeutic properties. This activity will introduce you to some principles of Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry and Molecular Pharmacology, and demonstrate how advances in technology underlie medical advances. | New Science Building, Level 3 | Applicant |
