Nursing can take you into all sorts of different environments, including hospitals, GP surgeries, schools, care homes, hospices, and into people’s homes. Your skills might also take you on an international adventure - past graduates have moved into nursing roles in the RAF and even on cruise ships.
From the start of all our degrees, our placement pathways support you to plan your clinical experience across your time at UEA.
Our local and regional partners include hospital and community trusts, GP surgeries and mental health providers, and we have connections with universities around the world.
We’ll help you into placements that fit with your interests, location and circumstances. If you’re on our apprenticeships or master’s courses, we’ll also look at your past learning experience to make sure your placements give you something new.
You might stay close to home, or our BSc students have the option to explore an opportunity abroad. Wherever you go, you’ll be supported to thrive.
Our nursing courses are supported by teams of experienced teaching and research staff. You’ll learn from staff who have contributed to international journals and research projects, and written some of your own course textbooks.
Within the faculty we have three research centres, looking at healthy wellbeing and ageing, dementia and sleep. A number of our staff are also UEA graduates.
You’ll be supported and encouraged to follow your own path, whether that’s undertaking original research, presenting your work at a conference, or getting work published.
