Due to current developments around the COVID-19 pandemic we have made the difficult decision to postpone our promotion of outbound summer study programmes and have closed all applications.
Details regarding future programmes will be released on these pages later this year and emailed directly to those who registered their interest for summer 2020.
Please email us with any queries.
Completed your summer study research? Found a suitable summer study abroad placement?
You will need to apply directly to the host university programme. Each programme will have a different application processes, requirements and deadlines. Read the information provided by the host university to understand the procedures or email us if you have any questions.
If you have chosen a UEA Study Abroad partner summer programme but are not applying for a UEA bursary please let us know. This ensures we record interest, provide appropriate support and inform the partner you are applying to ensure you receive partner discounts (not all discounts are promoted on their websites). Please note, you still need to apply directly to the host university.
We will also invite you to attend a pre-departure session to provide advice and guidance to help you prepare for your placement abroad.
Most summer study applications will be online and require you to upload supporting information;
All will require personal details (name, nationality, education history, etc.);
Most will require a grades transcript. Contact UEA Study Abroad to provide you with this.
In most cases you’ll need to select your summer study course preferences;
Most options have accommodation choices, so you’ll need to select your preferences;
Some programmes may require a supporting statement or an academic reference to understand why you are interested in that course.
Please note, students need to apply separately to the host university programme and to additional funding opportunities (e.g. European Short Term Grant).
