Why choose Notre Dame

University of Notre Dame is a private Catholic research institution that was founded in 1842 (you don't have to be Catholic to attend!). It has an impressive reputation in the States and globally. It is located in South Bend, Indiana, just 100 miles outside of Chicago.

The University of Notre Dame includes twenty seven residence halls , two serene lakes, several large and loud athletic arenas, two gorgeous dining halls, a multitude of classroom buildings, one beautifully Gothic Basilica. The residence halls form the centre for social life at Notre Dame. Dances, community service projects, social awareness activities, fundraisers, and athletic events are sponsored by the halls. Legends, an on-campus restaurant and pub, is also a popular spot for watching sporting events.

Notre Dame is accessible by air, train, bus, and car. Members of the community fly on major airlines into Chicago, Indianapolis, or South Bend. They may ride buses and trains from major Midwestern cities to Notre Dame. Many students use bicycles to roam campus in the milder months of the year; however, the campus is designed so that students can easily transport themselves on foot.

Notre Dame has a strong sporting culture and the autumn revolves around college football and supporting the Fighting Irish. Here you can enjoy the stereotypical experience of tailgating and then heading to the game.
