Meet your ambassador Meet your ambassador

My name is Akshil Shah and I am a second-year undergraduate student studying Business Finance and Economics at the University of East Anglia. Studying at UEA has been a tremendous experience for me. The UEA campus has a lot of greenery, has bunnies during the winter season and even has a lake right on campus. The view from the library overlooking the lake is really pretty.

I have also gotten to choose a course which allows me to combine multiple interests and select exciting modules to study. The professors are always approachable and are always willing to help you. The UEA also allows you to develop into a well-rounded student and has various services to help you.

The Career-Central provides you with workshops on various career-related activities. I also have a passion for entrepreneurship and the UEA Student Enterprise provides entrepreneurial workshops and guidance for students. I was able to take part in a social enterprise event hosted by the university last year called Social Storm and this was a really good event which taught us various skills such as how to make a business plan and how to make a video pitch.

Norwich is a beautiful city and is only a 20 to 25-minute bus ride away from campus. The city has a wide range of shopping, restaurants with a range of various cuisines and cinemas with the latest movies. Norwich is also a great city because it is reasonably priced as compared to other cities.

The university also has the Sportspark on campus which has great sports facilities including an Olympic sized swimming pool. As a member of the table tennis team, we have our training sessions over here. We also have a 24-hour library and multiple places to eat on campus.

You can also follow your passion be it through sports or meeting people with similar interests by joining a range of different sports clubs and societies on campus.
