South Korean Ambassador
Hi everyone, my name is Gina and I am the Korean student ambassador here at UEA! I finished my undergraduate degree in International Development and the Environment with Overseas Experience at UEA this summer and started my master's in Environmental Sciences! I am currently doing a pathway called Science, Society, and Sustainability within MSc Environmental Sciences, which specifically focuses on sustainability and sustainability governance. 3S is also the name of a research group at UEA dedicated to researching links between science, society, and sustainability as well as working on relevant policy developments.
UEA excels in interdisciplinary thinking and allows you to tailor your course according to your academic interest! Personally, I am currently taking one module from the School of Politics, Philosophy, Language and Communication Studies in policy-making, which greatly helps me in understanding policies in environmental contexts. As such, within your course profile, you will be able to explore your academic interests with a variety of optional modules to choose from. This is one of the reasons why I decided to stay at UEA for my postgraduate studies!
There are many societies and sports clubs for you to join at UEA as well to fill up your free time and to make friends from all over the world! I have been a part of Korean and Southeast Asian societies, two of the largest cultural societies on campus, and I got to make a lot of friends with various backgrounds, which made me a more open-minded person. UEA gives students many opportunities to grow as a person with a range of on-campus jobs and voluntary work available to students to gain experience or to simply earn money! I have definitely benefited from on-campus opportunities and developed many skills over the years at UEA, so if you are interested in gaining new experience and challenging yourself, UEA is a place for you!! Like the UEA motto, do something different and study at UEA!!

South Korea: Young - PhD Marketing
I'm glad to meet you on this University of East Anglia international students' website. I am Young who has been studying in B2B relationship marketing at Norwich Business School (NBS).
Until now, not many people in Korea may are familiar with the University of East Anglia. Neither was I. In fact, when people decide to study abroad, the main factors considered could be research network, relationships with researchers including supervisors (particularly, for postgraduate students), university's support for students, the safety and convenience of the city and the future career after graduating from the university. In the light of my experience at UEA and in Norwich, I think my decision to study in UEA was the best for me. Fortunately, I have got a NBS studentship for all PhD processes. I think each school including NBS tries to give chances for international students to study in UEA. If you plan study in the UK, why do not try to apply for UEA with UEA studentship? Additionally, Norwich is one of safest cities in the UK. Besides, there are new big shopping malls in Norwich city centre, so you can feel the convenience of shopping just like Korea.
UEA campus has many benefits. First, it is a campus-based university. It is very convenient because you can find a food store, coffee shop, post office, book store and more on campus. Second, the campus is like a park where you can feel the change of seasons and be communion with the nature. Third, the campus is next to a park area and lake so it offers a variety of facilities which can make your campus life better. For instance, the Sainsbury Centre which has held exhibitions; the Sports Park which is the biggest university indoor sports centre in Britain and has an Olympic-sized pool, climbing wall, athletics track, gym and an extensive range of sports and leisure activities.
I wish you all the best. Hope to see you at the University of East Anglia soon!!
