If you’re a current UEA Offer Holder, you can find your people and learn about student life by joining our Unibuddy Community. Join now and you’ll be able to dive into student life before it’s even begun.

What is Unibuddy Community?

Unibuddy Community is a safe online space where you can meet, connect, and chat with other UEA offer holders. Want to meet your future course mates, find a sports club, or ask about student life in Norwich? You can do all that – and more – in our community. With the ‘Updates’ channel, we’ll remind you about Applicant Days, student finance deadlines, accommodation timelines, and more. It’s everything you need to know about UEA – all in one place. With current students on hand to answer all your burning questions too, this is the perfect way to find your place in the home of the wonderful. Your university experience starts the moment you join.

How do I join UEA's Unibuddy Community?

  • If you’re a UEA Offer Holder, look out for an email from us letting you know about the community. You’ll need to click on the link in that email to give your consent for your email address to be used to invite you to the community. Alternatively, visit our consent form and add in your UEA Applicant Number, which can be found in the footer of the emails we’ve sent you. If you have any questions, please email admissions@uea.ac.uk.

  • Once you’ve given your consent, Unibuddy will email an invitation to you, along with instructions to set up your account and join the community.

  • You can access Unibuddy Community by downloading the app on iOS or Android - or simply use the Desktop version if you prefer.

  • Follow the instructions given, making sure to use the email address that is on your UCAS application- and you’re ready to go!

  • Once you’ve joined, you’ll be welcomed into a vibrant community to get your student life started.

Starting university can feel like a bit of a whirlwind – and that’s normal. But this is where you belong. So, get your UEA Unibuddy Community invitation and join your future friends today.

Frequently Asked Questions

Because we want to ensure that our Offer Holder community is as secure and safe space as possible, it’s very important to us that we can verify who you say you are. Therefore, you will not be able to access our community using a different email to what you have used on your UCAS application. However, if you contact us at admissions@uea.ac.uk, we will take you through a screening process and see if we can help you to do this.

You can follow the steps above, or you can contact our admissions team at admissions@uea.ac.uk for assistance.

This community is exclusively for our Undergraduate Offer Holders. There is a separate Unibuddy Community for Postgraduate Offer Holders and as an PG Offer Holder you will be emailed about joining this.

We’ve added a selection of Groups in the Community to start with, but at the moment, users can’t create their own groups. We may change this setting as the community grows, but in the meantime just send one of our student ambassadors within the community a message about the group you would like to set up.

This Unibuddy Community has been created to provide a safe space for you to meet and chat with other offer holders who will potentially be joining UEA at the same time as you. Chats are monitored for safeguarding and data security only. We also have some student ambassadors who will be monitoring the community and will report anything they see that needs flagging.

To ensure everyone is able to enjoy the community, when you log into the platform you are asked to agree to the following rules:

  1. Be kind and courteous. We're all in this together to create a welcoming environment. Let's treat everyone with respect. Healthy debates are natural, but kindness is required.

  2. No hate or bullying. Make sure that everyone feels safe. Bullying of any kind is not tolerated - personal attacks, inflammatory remarks, profanity, or degrading comments about things such as race, religion, culture, sexual orientation, gender, or identity will not be tolerated.

  3. No promotions or spam. Give more to these groups than you take. Self-promotion, spam, and irrelevant links are not allowed.

  4. Respect everyone's privacy. Being part of these groups requires mutual trust. Authentic, expressive discussions make group conversations great, but may also be sensitive and private. So please think twice before you post personal information in any of these groups. We will act if we see someone violating these guidelines.

By logging onto the community and joining the chat, you agree with the rules listed above. If you break one of the rules above, you will be banned and removed from Unibuddy Community.

If you see any content that you find inappropriate or that breaks the agreed set of rules for platform use, please contact us at admissions@uea.ac.uk.

Only UEA undergraduate offer holders will be able to join this community. All our undergraduate offer holders will receive an email inviting them to join the community and will provide instructions how to do so.

The permissions for you to join our community will be linked to the email address you used when applying through UCAS. Please check you’re using this same email when trying to join our community. If you’re not, then this might explain why you can’t join.

If you can’t wait for your email invitation, please follow the steps above or feel free to contact us at admissions@uea.ac.uk and we will look into this for you.
