Royal Norfolk Show 2022

Context

UEA’s marquee at the Royal Norfolk Show 2022 sought to showcase the exciting projects currently being undertaken with regards to research and innovation. In particular the showcase of Brandland aimed to utilise the Gateway to Growth team’s extensive work with the project to show businesses and the general public.

Task / Brief

The interns were tasked with producing posters showcasing some of Norwich’s proudest brands whilst also outlining the key purpose of Brandland as an organisation. They were also required to produce an interactive quiz for passers-by to try out to increase engagement with the general public.

Outcomes

The event was a success with numerous signups to the Brandland mailing list in addition to increasing popular awareness of the group so as to cement Brandland as a prominent feature in the Norwich business landscape. Plenty of great conversations were inspired by the content we had on offer and business leaders certainly seemed interested.

Testimonial

The Royal Norfolk Show is the UK’s largest county show and attracts over 80,000 visitors each year. UEA’s marquee, situated close to main show ring, is a showcase for the University’s world-leading research and civic community activities. The Gateway to Growth team were superb and much valued event assistants for the long two days of the Show undertaking a variety of tasks with professionalism and commitment. Both of them were extremely approachable and able to engage effectively with the array of visitors and colleagues. In addition to supporting manual elements of marquee set-up, running and take down, the interns were responsible for the devising and production of a display and interactive quiz for Brandland as part of Creative UEA’s presence. - Julia O’Rourke, Communications, Marketing and Events Co-ordinator, UEA.
