We offer a programme of academic, personal and professional development for research students, beyond the supervisory relationship and core research groups. Regular seminars convened by the research groups bring together faculty members and post-graduate researchers to discuss on-going research.
Research students participate in a dedicated post-graduate research seminar, which provide an opportunity to present research, receive critical feedback, and to learn about the research of peers.
Research students are also invited to the department’s weekly research seminar, which offers a chance to engage with the work of nationally and internationally renowned scholars. The department also hosts a number of interdisciplinary conferences and workshops.
UEA is a member of two prestigious Doctoral Training Partnerships: The South East Network for Social Sciences (SeNSS) (funded by the Economic and Social Research Council) and the CHASE Doctoral Training Partnership (funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council).
