A module of two halves, the first, microeconomic part focuses on the immediate economic environment and examines the functioning of markets and the impact of location on business behaviour and performance. The second, macroeconomic part is concerned with the broader economic environment and examines the functioning of national economies and the global economy as a whole.
Throughout each part, economic theory will be strongly related to past and current economic events.
Aims and Objectives
On completion of this module, you will be able to:
Help managers understand and influence the economic environment in which they operate
Develop managers as critical consumers of economic news, research, and policy.
You will have a sound understanding of the principles of economics, together with the ability to apply economic tools and concepts when analysing and explaining business problems.
