2017 Choir Tour - Caen Return Visit 2017 Choir Tour - Caen Return Visit

Following UEA Choir's successful tour of Caen, with the Choir and Orchestra of the University of Caen (COUR), in March 2016, COUR joined UEA Choir for a small tour of Norwich in May 2017.

The tour began, on Friday 26 May at 1.10pm, with a one-off lunchtime concert by COUR in the Strode Concert Room (UEA Music Centre). In this concert, COUR performed Schubert’s lovely Mass in G major and Mozart’s gentle Eine kleine Nachtmusik. COUR also enjoyed a tour of Norwich and were joined by UEA Choir for a boat trip on the Broads.

The tour concluded, on Saturday 27 May, with a series of concerts in two beautiful Norfolk churches. On Saturday 27 May at 1pm, COUR and UEA Choir performed a lunchtime concert at The Church of St Peter Mancroft. On Saturday 27 May at 7pm, COUR and UEA Choir performed an evening concert at St Andrew’s Church Eaton. The programme for both concerts, included Schubert’s lovely Mass in G major, Mozart’s glorious miniature the Ave verum corpus, Gounod’s powerful Gallia and Dvorak’s beautiful In Nature’s Realm.
