The South East Network for Social Sciences (SeNSS), a social sciences focused research and doctoral training partnership (DTP) funded by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC), enables doctoral students to build strong relationships with both academic, user, and practitioner networks at a number of different levels. The consortium already contains over 200 existing partnerships with external organizations and opportunities to engage with these organizations embedded in the design of its various training pathways and cohort development activities. UEA's doctoral students will also be able to access excellent research, transferable skills, and advanced training, provisioned in their home institution and across the other nine consortium institutions (which include the Universities of Essex, Kent, Surrey, Sussex, Reading, Royal Holloway, Goldsmiths College, Roehampton, & City University).
As a member of SeNSS, UEA will be offering fully-funded doctoral studentships over the next six years across 12 different training pathways.
The deadline for applications in respect of 2019/20 full and part-time +3 (PhD) and 1+3 (Masters and PhD) ESRC funded studentships is 20 January 2020 at midday. Funding is available to candidates who meet the UK/EU residency requirements as reflected in the UKRI Training Grant Guide and relative to following subject areas within the Faculty: Social Work and Social Policy.
Please note that there is a two-stage process for consideration for a SeNSS Studentship award and if put forward by your prospective Supervisor you will also need to complete an online SeNSS application form.
