Registration of new postgraduate research students occurs 4 times per annum. The majority of students register at the beginning of the academic year (1st October), however students also register on 1st January, 1st April or 1st July (exact dates may vary).
Attendance at the Graduate School induction programme is compulsory for all new students. Details of the induction programme together with joining instructions will be sent to students by the PGR Service, who can be contacted if you have any questions.
Students should contact their supervisors to arrange an initial meeting during the first week to agree on the frequency of meetings and begin to plan a schedule of work. A meeting to agree formal supervisory arrangements and an analysis of training needs should take place within 3 weeks of initial registration. This should be recorded on the initial meeting form and returned to the FMH team in the PGR Office (EFB 2.30).
