The Tenth International Conference of the Journal of International Accounting Research (JIAR)

Submission Deadline: February 15, 2023 (early submission is encouraged)

The goal of this conference is to expand the diversity and scope of international accounting research, through increased understanding and awareness of the challenges and opportunities of international accounting. Original and rigorous research will provide academics, practitioners, and regulators with deeper insights into international accounting issues. Journal of International Accounting Research (JIAR) continues to welcome innovative and high quality research that examines how accounting data affects capital market participants. Papers that address interesting and innovative research questions in all areas are welcomed. 

For Plenary Session Submission – June 22 & 23, 2023:

Accepted Plenary Session papers will be published in the Journal of International Accounting Research (conditional on satisfactory responses to reviewers’ and discussant’s comments). The conference will waive the registration fee and cover airfare and three nights’ hotel for one presenter of each paper (up to 1,200 GBP). There will be a best paper award for the papers presented in the plenary sessions.

For Concurrent and Forum Session Submission:

Papers submitted to the Concurrent Sessions will be considered for presentation at the conference, but not for publication in the Journal of International Accounting Research. Communication will be via email to JIAR.2023@uea.ac.uk.

Doctoral/New faculty Consortium – June 21, 2023:

Up to 30 doctoral students who are selected to attend the consortium will receive financial support in the form of two nights’ accommodation, but consortium & conference fees will apply (see below). Consortium registration is by invitation only and must be completed by the date specified on the email acceptance. To apply, send your CV and rationale for attending the conference to Prof. Linda Myers using the subject line “JIAR Doctoral/New faculty Consortium application”.  The early application deadline has passed but applicants can join a wait list.

Travelling to Norwich

Norwich is easily accessible. Participants can fly into the Norwich airport via Amsterdam’s Schiphol airport, or fly into one of the London airports (London Stansted is the closest one) and then take a direct train from to Norwich (train trip takes less than two hours).
