Tanner Barnes has a Masters of Fine Arts from The New School in New York and a degree in Theatre Arts from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. She has a background in producing large-scale events, theatre and performance productions, and in public engagement surrounding arts and education. Tanner joined the UEA Events Team in 2018 and works in the curation of the London Lectures, Inaugural Lectures and Children’s Christmas Lecture in addition to several other events and lecture series.
Rachel Watkins graduated with a degree in Business Economics from UEA in 2007 and has since worked with the University in a range of roles, before finally joining the events and engagement team in 2017. Here, she coordinates a range of public engagement, alumni and corporate events, including the Children’s Christmas Lectures. Rachel also manages UEA’s online calendar listings and the @UEAEvents Twitter feed.
Ruth Selwyn-Crome graduated from Camberwell with a degree in Art History and a background in contract publishing. Ruth joined UEA in 2005, joined the public engagement beacon CUE East in 2010 and the central events team in 2012. Three times a year, she produces UEA’s What’s On guide, collating and promoting public events taking place across the University. Ruth operates the Small Expenses Scheme, administrates UEA's Engagement Awards and conducts an annual Social, Community and Cultural Engagement Survey for UEA's return to HEBCI. Ruth gained an MA in Creative Writing (Scriptwriting) in 2009 and harbours aspirations to win an Oscar some day, but meanwhile her public engagement related tweets can be found by following @engageatuea.
